Each country you visit will offer you its most beautiful tourist sites, so all you have to do is choose your destination.
1. The Great Wall of China
This is one of the best sightseeing tours offered in China, as it is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It was originally built to protect the northern border of the Chinese empire. However, this fortress, built between the 3rd century and the 18th century B.C., has managed to keep 30% of its original construction.
Although it has lost 70% of its structure, the Great Wall of China measures about 8000 km with about 6000 km of walls, 300 km of trench, and 2000 km of natural barriers. It is the most impressive architectural structure ever built by human beings. In 2015, it was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit it if you ever come to China.
2. The Taj Mahal in India
Without mentioning the spicy Indian gastronomy, the Taj Mahal is one of the prides of India. Indeed, it is the most beautiful example of Mughal architecture ever created. Its construction in white marble began in 1632 and was completed in 1654, and in 2004 it celebrated its 350th anniversary. It is located in the city of Agra in India.
The Muslim Mughal emperor Shah Jahan built it in memory of his late wife, who lost her life while giving birth to their fourteenth child on June 17, 1631. The emperor was buried beside his beloved after her death on January 31, 1666. Now a popular landmark, the Taj Mahal attracts two to four million tourists, 200,000 of whom are foreigners.
3. The statue of Christ the Redeemer in Brazil
Traveling to Brazil and not visiting Christ the Redeemer can be an insult to this internationally recognized Brazilian heritage. This building is appreciated for the view it offers from the top, which is just magnificent. The statue of Christ the Redeemer is the symbol of Rio de Janeiro, the city where it is located, but also the symbol of the entire country.
Measuring 40 meters high and the fruit of the Catholic Church’s affirmation, it was imagined by a priest in 1850 and started in 1931 by a French sculptor. Built on top of Corcovado, it is one of the world’s most important symbols of Christianity.
4. The Lincoln Memorial in the United States
If you are planning a road trip to the United States during your summer vacation, don’t forget to include the Lincoln Memorial in your program and book a hotel complex next to it to spend the night because the place is beautiful at night. It is a large building made of white marble like the Taj Mahal, but as its name suggests, the memorial was built in honor of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States of America.
It was inaugurated in 1922, and for several years, different speeches that have made history have been given there, such as Martin Luther King’s speech in which he emphasized employment and freedom in his “I have a dream” speech. Inside is a statue of President Lincoln seated with inscriptions from two of his most famous speeches.
